  • County Adds Interactive Maps To Website

    Saddle Hills County has added a new feature to its Maps page on the County website. Beginning May 26, 2022, users of County maps can now take advantage of the new Municite Interactive Map.

  • County Declares June 6 -12 as Seniors' Week

    At their regular meeting on May 24, 2022 Saddle Hills County Council declared June 6 -12 as Senmiors' Week.

  • Continued Growth For Rural Water Initiative

    2021 saw a continued growth for Saddle Hills County’s Rural Water Initiative. The initiative is expanding as residents are hooked up in areas where the mainline has been extended; pipelines are added to new areas of the County; easements are signed making way for future growth.

  • Budget & Financial Statements Published

    At its April 26, 2022 Regular Meeting, Saddle Hills County Council approved the 2021 Audited Financial Statements and the 2022 Budget.

    Every year, Council publishes a Strategic Plan. This plan sets out the guiding principles and long-term goals of Council. The Strategic Plan lets residents to keep track of how their government works, and what changes are planned for the community.

    We are situated in the Central Peace Region of northwestern Alberta along the southern banks of the Peace River, right at the center of The Montney Gas Formation. The County has a diverse agricultural community and deposits of natural gas and oil.

    Friendly Reminder Re: County Ditches

    It is the responsibility of a landowner to contact the County prior to any proposed work in the County’s rights-of-way. This includes items like approach construction or modifications, new or deepening of existing ditches, brushing, or any other work on developed or undeveloped rights-of-way.

    Spring Wildfires Can Result From Smouldering Winter Burns

    Alberta Wildfire urges anyone doing winter burning to ensure their piles have been fully extinguished. If fires are not properly put out, they can spread and burn underground, even under the snow and ice, all winter.
