Ward 5 By-Election

Council has called a Ward 5 By-Election to fill the seat recently vacated by Councillor Fitzsimmons. 

The nomination period for receipt of nomination papers begins October 9, 2024, with the deadline being set as October 28, 2024, at 12 p.m. (noon).

To be eligible for nomination, candidates must:

• Have resided in Ward 5, as shown above, for at least 6 months prior to nomination day.
• Be at least 18 years old at the time of nomination.
• Be a Canadian citizen

Candidates cannot run if they are prohibited from nomination or disqualified as a candidate under the Local Authorities Election Act.

You can pick up a copy of the Nomination Papers at the County Admin Building or download a copy here. 

Nomination papers can be submitted via email to jyanishewski@saddlehills.ab.ca or dropped off at the County office, before the October 28 deadline.

If required, an election will be held on November 25, 2024.
