Updated Grazing Rental Rates for 2025

The grazing rental rates for Grazing Leases, Licences, and Permits, have been updated and approved for 2025, by Minister of Alberta Forestry and Parks, Todd Loewen.

The rates are based on the existing rental model, with adjustments made using post return on capital employed (ROCE) data. The adjustments aim to offset some of the economic pressures caused by the averaging of spring prices and the high fall calf prices that have been historically seen. Without these revisions, the rental rates may have been substantially higher this year. 

For 2025, the rental rate per Animal Unit Mouth (AUM) for our region, Zone 2, is $6.07/AUM, up from $4.99/AUM in 2024.
