Support For Ukrainians Arriving In Alberta
Alberta has a strong connection to the citizens of Ukraine. Many of our families and friends come from this region of Europe and the current situation motivates us to see how we can provide assistance to those who have been displaced and have fled their homeland.
Recently, the province welcomed a large contingent of arrivals from Ukraine with more to follow. We understand that most of the individuals arriving will be women, children and older adults who may been separated from other family members who have had to remain behind. As in all situations of displacement arising from conflict, it is anticipated that these individuals have faced significant personal trauma and may have considerable social needs.
Further information about provincial support for Ukrainian evacuees is available at alberta.ca/support-for-ukrainians.aspx.
