Seeking: Contract Caretaker for Spring Lake Campground

Saddle Hills County is seeking a motivated individual (or couple) to join our team as a contract caretaker at Spring Lake Campground, for the 2024 season.

The campground consists of 66 sites, of which 10 are available for seasonal use, and both group use and day use areas. The caretaker would be required to either provide their own RV and live on-site, or be prepared to commute to the campground daily for the duration of the 20-week camping season. 

The work term would be from May 6 to September 30, 2024. 

Duties include:

• Telephone monitoring
• Administering the online reservation system (a digital notebook and training will be provided)
• Fee collection for campers paying in cash
• Bookkeeping
• Janitorial duties
• Ordering firewood
• Grass cutting
• Site maintenance
• Playground inspections
• Enforcement of campground rules
• Minor repairs

As the position involves outdoor, physical work, applicants should be physically capable of performing the duties described, among others. Grass cutting equipment, cleaning supplies, and a Utility Terrain Vehicle will be provided. The successful applicant would be required to attend safety orientation training.

The caretaker would need to have a valid driver's license and current first aid/CPR training. Personal transportation would also be an asset. Candidates, and any sub-contracted support personnel, must provide a clear criminal record check prior to commencement of the position.
