Recognize your local Agricultural Society with an Innovation Award!

The Agricultural Society Innovation Award recognizes Agricultural Societies in Alberta for their innovation, resilience, and commitment to their communities.

In 2022, the program recognized three (3) Agricultural Societies which made tremendous impacts on their communities. Foremost & District Agricultural Society collaborated with Foremost School to create an exclusive Rodeo Academy for Grades 7-12, the first of its kind for this age group. The program was open to both out-of-town and international students and has been integrated into the curriculum, with the capacity to draw attendees for years to come.

The Grovedale Community Club & Agricultural Society opened a year-round, full-time staffed community daycare, operated by the society in June 2022. Not only did the business provide a much needed service but also created new opportunities and jobs and supported local families to keep them in the community.

The Llloydminster Agricultural Exhibition Association launched the Cattleman's Call, an event including bull shows, networking socials, an ag-business tradeshow, and a showcase for breeding programs, creating a networking environment for the local cattle and agricultural sectors.

The applications are reviewed by a selection panel made up of individuals representing agricultural societies and are evaluated based on creativity, community impact, overcoming challenges, and overall impression. Winners receive a banner suitable for display in their area or community hall to mark this achievement along with a formal certificate of recognition.

Applications for 2023 are now open and the deadline is November 30, 2023.
