Fire Advisory in Effect - April 16, 2025

As a result of the high temperatures and drying conditions, the Fire Danger Rating in Saddle Hills County is now HIGH.

In response to this, Saddle Hills County has issued a FIRE ADVISORY, along with other local municipalities.

Controlled burning in the Non-Forest Protection Area, including on privately-owned land, is now limited to campfires, burning barrels, and hand-piled wood, two cubic metres or smaller.

Burn permits are still required and will be issued on a case-by-case basis. Large fuel burns will not be permitted at this time.

The Fire Advisory will remain in effect until conditions improve.

Notice of Road Bans

By Saddle Hills County - April 18, 2025

With spring temperatures arriving, the County may implement Road Bans to protect the road surface from heavy vehicle damage. 

We also issue Road Ban Exemptions for companies and farmers that have Road Use Agreements and need to continue using certain roads.

Currently, there are no Road Bans in place, however; this could change quickly dependent on weather conditions.

Road Bans will be posted on our Road Bans page, and an updated list can be provided by the County office.

The Province will also issue Road Bans as appropriate, on Provincial Highways. Details of these can be found on the Government of Alberta website at alberta.ca/road-bans.
