Nominate an Exceptional Community Member for the Seniors Service Award
Do you know of an exceptional community member who has gone above and beyond for seniors?
Nominations are now open for the 2024-25 Minister’s Seniors Service Awards, recognizing Albertans who display kindness, compassion, and dedication to seniors. Albertans are encouraged to nominate an individual, group or business that demonstrates both excellent service and generosity to seniors through their volunteer efforts.
Up to 13 awards will be presented, including the Alice Modin Award, which recognizes a senior individual or couple for exceptional commitment to their community and the province, through long-term volunteer service. This award is given in honour of Alice Modin, who campaigned for Seniors’ Day and paved the way for the Alberta's annual Seniors Week. Additionally, two Special Service Awards are also being featured this year, the Bridging the Generations Award and the Community Philanthropy in Action Award. The Bridging Generations Award honours those that excel in uniting generations through shared experiences and backgrounds, while the Community Philanthropy in Action Award recognizes Albertans who mobilize community resources to support seniors through their volunteer efforts.
The deadline for nominations is April 30, 2025.
More information, including the nomination process, can be found on the Alberta Government website.
