Internship Opportunity on Parliament Hill for Young Farmers
The Parliamentary Internship for the Environment Program places young environmental leaders on Parliament Hill for a paid, full-time, ten month internship with Members of Parliament.
Interns gain a deep understanding of the day-to-day workings of Canadian Parliament, a behind-the-scenes look at the policy making process, and the ability to learn from some of Canada's top environmental changemakers. Participants will also be able to meet with expert guest speakers through fireside chats, attend workshops and conferences, and engage in interjurisdictional and constituency travel.
The Specialized Stream in Sustainable Agriculture is offering a young leader from the prairie provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, with an interest and background in agriculture the chance to advance environmental leadership in agriculture and elevate rural voices in Canada's environmental space. By applying through this stream, young farmers will gain a unique opportunity, with the potential of employment upon conclusion.
The program runs from September 2024 to June 2025, and comes with a stipend of $29,000.
Applications are open, and the deadline to submit is 11:59 p.m. (EST) on April 28, 2024. Visit Environmental Leadership Canada for more information.
