Free Digital Literacy Classes for Albertans

The Government of Alberta has launched a free digital literacy program for Albertans, offering 19 courses to help residents gain skills to help them engage with an ever-changing world.

Technology changes quickly, and more people are using online services to shop, access government programs, and reach out to loved ones. The new, free digital literacy program offered by the Government of Alberta is aimed at helping people to develop basic digital literacy or improve their existing skills.

Courses are offered at both beginner and intermediate levels, and lessons are practical, focusing on foundational skills for all internet users as well as how to stay safe online.

The program is designed for those with little to no experience using computers but includes a range of topics that would be helpful to anyone looking to boost their skills. Each course can be completed in 30 minutes or less.

Anyone who may require assistance can contact the Digital Literacy Program Help Desk at 1-888-839-9239 any day between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The Alberta Digital Literacy Program is funded by the Government of Canada’s Skills for Success Program.
