Forage Sampling and Feed Test Analysis Seminar - October 3, 2024

Saddle Hills County and the County of Grande Prairie No. 1 are hosting a Forage Sampling and Feed Test Analysis Seminar, presented by Barry Yaremcio with Yaremcio Ag Consulting Ltd., at the Westmark Hall, on October 3, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. 

Registration is free, but interested participants are required to Register Online before September 26, 2024. Dinner is included.

Meet the Presenter

Barry has had a varied career and boasts both a BSc and MSc in Animal Science. He was raised on a mixed farm in Northeastern Alberta and received his BSc from the University of Alberta in 1984. He then went on to begin his career with Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation, first as a District Agriculturalist, before moving on to become a Laboratory Nutritionist, and then a Provincial Beef Nutritionist.

In 1994, he left Alberta Agriculture to work in the private sector for a number of years, before rejoining the team in 2003, as a Beef and Forage Specialist at the Ag Info Centre in Stettler, AB. His responsibilities in this role included providing advice to farmers and ranchers on cattle nutrition, forage production, and animal management; troubleshooting production concerns; designing corrals; and handling facilities, hay sheds, and silage pits.

Barry went on to completed his MSc in Animal Science, specializing in nutrition, in 2009, which included evaluating the amount of feed waste by various feed delivery systems and the impact it had on the quality of feed consumed.

In March of 2020, he started Yaremcio Ag Consulting Ltd. and now works as an independent ruminant nutritionist and production management consultant.
