Christmas in the County

Seasonal cheer abounded at the Christmas in the County event on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. Residents and visitors came from around the region to celebrate the festive season at the County office, have their photos taken with Santa, and participate in the many events put on by staff.

A candy cane hunt, colouring competition, games, and selfie area were widely enjoyed, alongside delicious treats provided by Yvonne Rogers, apple cider courtesy of the County's own Loretta Daly, as well a Candy Bar with a variety of pick 'n' mix options to choose from. Visitors were able to get their photographs taken with Santa, which were then printed on-site to be taken home, and the night was capped off with fireworks, provided by the County's Manager of Environmental Services, Darren Lubeck.

The County believes strongly in supporting our community and local businesses, and a selection of door prizes were available to be won, with the large majority of items either purchased or produced in Saddle Hills County. It is with thanks to the Baytree Boutique, Bonanza Store, Sweet Little Things by Kayla, Black Bear Creek Farms, Arrietta Acres, and Jeanette's Creamy Fudge, whose wonderful businesses make supporting local even easier! The beautiful decorations were also sourced locally, with balloon decorations by Noree Events and exterior decorations by The Little Petal Company. 

Thank you to everyone who helped to make the event such a success, and to our wonderful community for coming together to celebrate the holiday season with us! We look forward to celebrating many more joyous occasions with you in 2024.
