Bonanza School Raises $2,986 For Ukraine

Image of art project from Bonanza School Art Auction

Bonanza School held a special art auction on April 14, 2022 in order to raise funds in support of Ukraine.

By Theresa Simmonds, Principal – Bonanza School.

We had a great turnout for the auction.  The students wanted to do something to help out in some way for the war that is happening in Ukraine.

They decided to do the Art Auction, in the hopes of raising funds to send to UNICEF for the crisis.  UNICEF has been doing a lot of work with unaccompanied minors who are crossing the border as refugees, and need support and safety.

All of our students participated in creating art for the auction, from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8.  (70 students).  We had roughly 60 people attend the auction.  The total amount raised was $2986 dollars.  (HUGE thank you to Saddle Hills County Council for their $1,000 towards that auction)  This was the first in-person event that we have been able to have since Covid began.  It was a great time to get together, visit and celebrate the students' work!

Prinicpal Simmonds was nice enough to provide us with some photos of the projects created by the Bonanza School students to raise funds for the Ukraine.
