Be Prepared: What Comes After?

Emergency preparedness isn’t just about knowing what to do during an emergency or disaster —it also means preparing for what comes after, which can help reduce stress and recovery time. #BePrepared with these tips:

  • Reach out to nearby community members, friends, and your support network to talk about how you can help each other during and after an emergency.
  • Talk to your insurance provider to understand what your policy covers and especially what it doesn’t cover. Keep a detailed list of your belongings, including photos, and make copies to keep digitally and in your emergency kit.
  • Find out in advance where your community will post information on support and recovery after an emergency.

Knowing what to do after an emergency is one important piece of preparedness to include in your emergency plan. Learn more about how you can build resilience with Be Prepared programming and resources
