Be Prepared: Build Community

Who do you call when the unexpected occurs? Connected communities are more disaster resilient, which reduces impact and recovery time!

Build community and reduce your risk with these tips:

  • Learn about the people in your community. Do they have unique skills? Do they need help, or can they offer help? Create a shared contact list to stay in touch.
  • Join or create a community Facebook group to connect with others at local events.
  • Create a buddy system to help with things like checking the mail. If an emergency occurs, buddies are a great resource.

Best protect yourself and others by learning more about emergency preparedness and create impactful change by sharing resources with your community.
