2025 Environmentally Sustainable Agriculture Tracking Survey

The Alberta government sponsors a biennial farm-level survey tracking the adoption of beneficial management practices (BMPs) in Alberta.

The survey has been conducted since 1997, and focuses on BMPs that support responsible management of Alberta's soil, air, water, and biodiversity. It also measures producers' awareness and use of government-supported decision-making tools and resources to help make sustainable on-farm decisions.

This survey is currently being conducted throughout January and February of 2025, and is being delivered online or over the phone to a representative sample of 500 farmers and ranchers from across Alberta.
