What to do with solid waste and recyclables the County

Saddle Hills County operates a multifaceted waste and recycling system which provides for the diverse needs of residents, businesses and industry in the County. Through a combination of collections sites, transfer stations and a number of programs including Single Stream Recycling and our Oil Recycling Program, we strive to answer the needs of all ratepayers and stakeholders to the best of our ability.

Collection Sites

A series of collection sites throughout the County provide the opportunity to dispose of solid waste and recyclables.

These sites are located outside our transfer stations providing 24/7 availability and at other key locations around the County.

Transfer Stations

Our transfer stations offer opportunities for residents, business and industry to dispose of a variety of solid waste and recyclables including:

  • Recyclable Materials
Saddle Hills County collects all recyclable items in one recycling container. This is described as Single Stream Recycle and offers an oil recycling program at Bonanza and Blueberry transfer stations
  • TiresAbandoned vehicles (Tires and batteries must be removed and fluids drained)

  • White goods
  • Clean burnable wood
  • PesticidesMotor vehicle batteries
  • Agricultural plastics
  • Oil including filters and oil jugs
  • Plastic from chemical containers (rinsed)

  • Electronic waste (Blueberry, Bonanza, Woking only)
  • Paint (Blueberry, Bonanza, Woking only)
  • Household waste including large items like beds, couches, etc.
  • Paper, cardboard, plastic and Tin recycling 

Gundy Transfer Station currently has a 40 yard bin for Household Waste.

Our Transfer Stations are strategically located to serve the largest number of residents, businesses and industry across the County.

Open Wednesday and Saturday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm                  

Bonanza Transfer Station – NW 33-79-12-W6 (East of Hwy. 719 on Twp. Rd. 800)   
Open Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm                            

OversizeWoking Transfer Station -SW 18-76-5-W6 (Rge. Rd. 60 South of Woking)
Open Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm  


Gundy Transfer Station SW 32-76-13-W6 (Northwest of Gundy Hall)
Open Saturdays only 10:00 am t0 4:00 pm (BC Time Zone)
