Scentless Chamomile Now Prohibited Noxious In Saddle Hills County
Posted on 10/02/2017

The Saddle Hills County Agricultural Service Board has recognized scentless chamomile as a plant to be closely managed to keep it from establishing itself and having a negative effect on agriculture production within the County.

The Board requested that administration create a bylaw to elevate scentless chamomile from noxious to prohibited noxious, the bylaw was approved and referred to Council.  Council then provided first and second reading and referred the bylaw to the Province.

The Province supports the elevation and Council provided third reading to the bylaw on September 26, 2017.

This means that where scentless chamomile is found, the owner or occupier shall destroy it.  Please contact your Agricultural Service Board or the Agricultural Fieldman for more information.
