If you own property in Saddle Hills County you will receive a Property Tax Notice each year in the mail to the mailing address we have on file. This tax notice will indicate how much is owed in taxes for the tax year. If you have recently moved or changed your mailing address, please let us know so that there are no delays.
You will receive a copy of your Tax Notice regardless of who is paying. For example, if your Mortgage Company is paying your bill will state 'Do Not Pay - Paid by Mortgage Company', along with the name of your Mortgage Company. The County will notify your Mortgage Company directly of the amounts due. If you receive a Tax Notice on which your Mortgage Company is not identified and should be, please contact your Mortgage Company.
The
Tax Rate Bylaw sets the rates for the year for each type of property.
You can request a statement of your Tax Account by sending us an email at
taxation@saddlehills.ab.ca
please ensure you include your name as it appears on the tax bill, and the property address or roll number.
If you have recently purchased a new property or newly built house you can expect a Property Tax Notice in your name once the land title change has been processed.
You will be issued a Tax Reminder Notice two weeks after the first installment due date if the installment payment has not been paid in full by this date. Saddle Hills County does not penalize ratepayers for any delays in a deposit due to issues between your banking institution and ours. Your payment date will be registered as the date on which you paid through your financial institution.
We offer several ways to pay your taxes online, over the phone, and in-person, including Property Tax Payment Plans.
