Alvin Hubert, Kristen Smith Acclaimed As Reeve, Deputy Reeve in Saddle Hills County

Saddle Hills County Council held its annual Organizational Meeting on October 23, 2018 and unanimously chose Alvin Hubert as Reeve for the coming year and Kristen Smith as Deputy Reeve. Hubert, who represents Ward 2, has been Reeve of Saddle Hills County since October of 2013. Smith has been Deputy Reeve since October, 2015.

“It is a huge honour to be chosen as Reeve. I think we have a great team. Let’s make it a good year for the County and the region. It’s not about us, it’s about the people out there. So let’s dream big and endeavour to do our best. We’ve got some pretty exciting things to look forward to in the coming months and years,” he said.

Deputty Reeve SmithDeputy Reeve Smith thanked Council for their support in acclaiming her to the role of Deputy Reeve and also in supporting her ability to raise a young family while living up to her duties as a councillor and as Deputy Reeve.

“I am really proud of the way we work together as a team and I believe the County continues to be in a better place every year,” she said.

Councillor Ken Titford told Council that he is proud of the way councillors accept each other’s ability to contribute and praised both Hubert and Smith for the huge commitment they continue to make on behalf of their ratepayers and Council. 

Councillor Ed Armagost said that, after one year on Council, he believes, “Things are coming together and we are doing fine.

Councillors Lawrence Andruchiw and John Moen each praised Council for its teamwork and Councillor Willis Fitzsimmons told Council, “I really appreciate the work both of you have done over these last years.”
