Hamelin Creek Wildfire - Being Held

The Hamelin Creek wildfire, located near Moonshine Lake Provincial Park, is now classified as being held, at approximately 5,557 ha. As a result of this, the Evacuation Alert for this area has been lifted. Moonshine Lake Provincial Park has also reopened. 

Firefighters, supported by heavy equipment and helicopters, continue to make steady progress by strengthening containment lines and extinguishing hot spots. Dry conditions in the area are creating some challenges, as the wildfire is burning deep underground.
