Saddle Hills County held an Open House at the Bonanza Recreation Hall Thursday evening to introduce the concept of direct delivery of potable water to rural property owners in the County.

Presentations were made by Reeve Alvin Hubert and representatives of Velocity Group which has performed an exhaustive study of the feasibility and costs of providing direct delivery of potable water to areas of the County.

All of Saddle Hills County Council  as well as several County staff were on hand to answer questions and go over, in detail, the new Rural Potable Water Servicing Policy and the Rural Potable Water Servicing Agreement.

More than 50 people attended the Open House in Bonanza with owners of some 29 properties committing to signing a Rural Potable Water Serving Agreement, which includes a $500 deposit.

The County will be providing more information in coming weeks through an information and public awareness campaign.
