Saddle Hills County offices will be closed on May 24, 27 and 28th to accommodate the move to the New County Complex, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The New County Complex will be located  25Km West of Spirit River on Highway 49 at the Junction of Highway 49 and Secondary Highway 725 NW-9-79-8-W6.

Saddle Hills County is pleased to provide Calcium Chloride as a dust abatement agent on roads in 2013. The standard fee is $7.50 per linear meter. However, the County will share a percentage of the cost with residents who request dust control. The cost-sharing percentages are outlined below.

Residents on Collector and Local Roads shall pay 75% of the first 100 meters and Saddle Hills County will pay the remaining 25%.  The resident shall pay the full cost of any additional length over the first 100m at the standard unit price per linear meter established above.

Residents on Arterial Roads must apply for a minimum of 200 meters of dust control. The resident shall pay 50% of the first 100 meters and Saddle Hills County will pay the remaining 50% as well as the entire cost for the second 100 meters. The resident may also apply for up to an additional 200 meters at the 50% cost-shared rate. Residents applying for distances greater than 400 meters shall pay the full cost for the distance over 400 meters.

Residents on Secondary Highways must apply for a minimum of 350 meters of dust control. The resident shall pay 50% of the first 100 meters and Saddle Hills County will pay the remaining 50% as well as the entire cost for the second 250 meters. The resident may also apply for up to an additional 100 meters at the 50% cost-shared rate. Residents applying for distances greater than 450 meters shall pay the full cost at the standard rate established above. 

Applications must be received no later than 4:00 p.m., April 26, 2013.

Saddle Hills County Council engaged Rick McDonald & Associates to complete a Corporate Review. On November 27, 2012 Council received the report that can be viewed at the link below. Council has postponed making decisions on the recommended actions to a meeting in January. The results of Council decision making will be communicated shortly after the January meeting.

Saddle Hills County Volunteer Recognition Initiative is set up for you to nominate someone you think has gone above and beyond in committing their time, skills and energy to their community.  In addition to receiving an award, the volunteers will be highlighted in the local paper circulated throughout the Saddle Hills County.

A VOLUNTEER is a person who freely offers to assist or a person who works for organizations without being paid. Saddle Hills County volunteer committee will select the award recipients on or by July 16th, 2013. Nomination forms may also be

Construction Equipment Bids For Gravel Haul And Day Labour Use

All owners of construction equipment wishing to submit bids for positions on all day labor lists and gravel haul for the following equipment are requested to pick up a bid sheet and corresponding requirements from the Saddle Hills County Office or Field Operations Shop:

Crawlers, graders, packers, buggies, hoes, trucks in combination with trailers (Gravel Trucks), steamers, pups or wagons, etc.
